Nevertheless, it was another great camp. Fun activities include a variety of games, swim in the river, water fight, casino night and bush walks.
Prayer and liturgy were integral parts of this camp. Fr Brennan Sia, the youth chaplain from St. Mary’s Cathedral came down to celebrate a Mass on the first day of the camp. A Salesian priest from Melbourne, Fr Will Matthews SDB, also visited them on the last day of the camp, and volunteered to drive the bus on their way home.
Even though the camp was cut short for a day, a reunion has been organized on 24th January at Hilary Boat Harbour to compensate the extra fun many might had missed.
The WA Salesian Summer camps have been running in the last 30 years in the great spirit of Don Bosco mainly by young leaders and some Salesian Co-operators.
